Westinghouse High School Volunteers

Westinghouse High School in Brooklyn is a Gold Level Volunteer organization. Why? Principal Janine Kiernan allowed four exceptional students to become Facilitators of the MAPS program in Brooklyn. As Facilitators the Westinghouse students conducted interactive workshops with elementary school students to teach the little kids about futurecareer options in the fields of engineering, ophthalmology, fine arts and film production.

The Westinghouse Facilitators used their personal career choices as examples andprovidedhand-on activities for the elementary schoolstudents to learn about those choices. The goal was to get the little ones to explore and think about what they may want to do when they grow up.

Congratulations to Westinghouse High School in Brooklyn!
